Dudley Moore (1935 - 2002)
Pianist/composer
Film Deaths:
- The Hound of the Baskervilles (1978) [Dr. Watson/Mrs. Ada Holmes/Mr. Spiggott/Pianist]: Playing multiple roles, "Dr. Watson" and "Mrs. Holmes" are both killed (along with Peter Cook and Kenneth Williams) in a spontaneous volcanic eruption when Mrs. Holmes' absurd prediction comes true. ("Mr. Spiggott" and "Pianist" survive the movie.) (Played for comic effect.)
TV Deaths:
- Not Only...But Also: Episode 2.7 (1966) [Various Characters]: In the "Superthunderstingcar" sketch (a parody of Gerry Anderson's marionette programs), "Brains" is shot with a "futuristic" gun (actually a ping-pong ball gun) by Peter Cook, while "Johnny" is killed when Peter cuts his strings. In the "Pete and Dud in Heaven" sketch, Dudley and Peter appear as spirits arriving at the Pearly Gates. (All played for comic effect, obviously.) (Both of these sketches are included in the US DVD compilation The Best of...What's Left of...Not Only...But Also.)
