After Debrah is rendered comatose in a traffic accident, Mark Hamill attempts to treat her with an AI assisted computer that allows him to enter her mind and communicate with her in a dreamlike, virtual reality environment. But the AI tricks Mark into suffocating the manifestation of Debrah’s consciousnesses with a pillow, thereby killing her actual body soon after. In a rage, Hamill destroys the AI, which had taken on Debrah’s likeness in virtual reality.
