- Cloud Atlas (2012) [Autua/Lester Ray/Duophysite]: Playing multiple roles, 'Lester Rey' dies (off-screen) decades before the 1970s story; his death is mentioned by his now adult daughter (Halle Berry) in passing and Lester is only seen in the photograph. (All his other characters survive the film)
- Interstellar (2014) [Dr. Romilly]: Killed in an explosion when the bomb rigged to Matt Damon's robot goes off; the explosion is seen from a distance as Anne Hathaway tries in vein to save David.
