- Lee Daniels' The Butler (2013) [Earl Gaines] was shot by Thomas Westfall in the cotton field to protest over the rape of Hattie Pearl by Thomas Westfall. Cecil Gaines was distraught over Earl's death. Annabeth Westfall tries to convince him that he's gone.
- Flight 7500 (2014) [Co-Pilot Tom Anders]: Deprived of oxygen after the plane he's traveling on suffers uncontrolled decompression.
