Film Deaths[]

  • The Adventures of Smilin' Jack [Ch. 9, Bridge of Peril] [Ch. 10, Blackout on the Island] (1943) [Mah Ling / Han Po]: Playing a dual role, in chapter 9 'Han Po' is altered to look like 'Mah Ling' by David Hoffman then killed so they could leave his body when the Axis spies kidnapped 'Mah Ling'. Later when the kidnapping is botched by Tom Brown 'Mah Ling" is mortally shot by Hoffman to keep him from revealing that Rose Hobart was the leader of the Axis spy ring.
  • The Shanghai Cobra (1945) [Detective Larkin]: Stabbed in the neck 9off-screen with needles containing cobra venom. His body is found in a sewer by Keye Luke and Mantan Moreland.
  • The Shadow Returns (1946) [John Adams]: Breaks his neck after Emmett Vogan uses a bull whip to pull him over the same balcony that he pulled Frank Reicher over. Joseph Crehan and Pierre Watkin follow Cyril up to question him over his suspicious behavior and witness him go over.
  • I Bury the Living (1958) [William Isham]: Dies of a heart attack in his workshop.
  • The Night of the Iguana (1964) [Nonno]: Dies of old age/natural causes, with his granddaughter (Deborah Kerr) by his side.
