  • The Dark Corner (1946) [Hardy Cathcart]: Shot repeatedly in the back and chest by Cathy Downs, just as Clifton is about to shoot Mark Stevens. (Thanks to Brian)
  • Cheaper by the Dozen (1950) [Frank Bunker Gilbreth]: Dies (off-screen) of a heart attack; we learn of his death afterwards when Myrna Loy gets the news. (Thanks to Kris and Hamish)
  • Titanic (1953) [Richard Ward Sturges]: Drowned (off-screen) in the sinking of the RMS Titanic; the movie ends with him standing on the deck with his son (Harper Carter) as the ship goes down.
