Film Deaths[]

  • Star Trek (2009) [George Kirk]: Killed in an explosion when he sacrifices himself by crashing his ship into Eric Bana's ship, after evacuating the rest of his crew.
  • Thor (2011) [Thor Odinson]: Having stepped up with no defences, Chris is struck across the face and body with a backhand by a giant robot sent by Tom Hiddleston, causing him to be thrown backwards. As he had become mortal, Chris dies from these injuries while talking to Natalie Portman, before the magic of Anthony Hopkins causes Chris to be resurrected and regain his powers.
  • The Cabin in the Woods (2012) [Curt Vaughan]: Killed when he crashes his motorcycle into an invisible force-field while attempting to jump across the ravine, as Kristen Connolly and Jesse Williams look on in horror.
  • Red Dawn (2012) [Jed Eckert]: Shot by North Korean troops after talking to Josh Peck.
  • Rush (2013) [James Hunt]: Dies of a heart attack (off-screen); his death is revealed in Daniel Brühl's closing narration, playing over footage over the real James Hunt.
  • In the Heart of the Sea (2015) [Owen Chase]: Dies of unspecific circumstances (off-screen) between the years 1821 to 1850, where Ben Whishaw (portraying Herman Melville) tells Brendan Gleeson that he is the only remaining survivor of the Essex. (Historically inaccurate, the real Owen Chase was alive in 1850 and later died in March 7, 1869).
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) [Thor]: Killed off-screen in a fight with aliens in a hallucination that Robert Downey Jr. experiences while under the influence of Elizabeth Olsen's powers; he survives the film in reality.
  • Bad Times at the El Royale (2018) [Billy Lee]: Shot in the head by Lewis Pullman as Chris is about to kill Jeff Bridges.
  • Spiderhead (2022) [Steve Abnesti]: Crashes his plane into the side of a mountain while trying to escape from authorities after accidentally becoming dosed with his own experimental drugs.
  • Extraction 2 (2023) [Tyler Rake]: Is temporarily clinically dead after being shot by Suraj Rikame in the previous film; he is revived by doctors and survives the film.
  • Furiosa: A Mad Max Story (2024) [Dr. Dementus]: We see four possible outcomes of Chris’ fate told by the narrator George Shevtsov. One where he is shot in the back of the head by Anya Taylor-Joy. Another where Anya ties him to a car and drags him to his death. Another where he is crucified on a tree. We are told that the fourth is his "real" fate (whispered to the narrator by Anya) where Chris is tied to the ground and has a seed planted in him, causing a tree to grow out of him and slowly suck the life out of him. In this outcome, we see Chris barely clinging to life as he is malnourished due to the tree and maggots slowly killing him. It is not fully clear if this is literally happening or just meant to be be taken figuratively, but either way, his fate is sealed in all four outcomes.
