Charles Gray in The File of the Golden Goose

Charles Gray (1928 - 2000)

Film Deaths[]

  • The Man Outside (1967) [Charles Griddon]: Shot to death by Pinkas Braun just as Charles is about to kill Van Heflin.
  • You Only Live Twice (1967) [Dikko Henderson]: Stabbed in the back by assassin Eiichi Kikuchi (through a paper wall) while Charles is talking to Sean Connery.
  • The Devil Rides Out (The Devil's Bride) (1968) [Mocata]: Killed when Satan claims him, after the cult's intended sacrifice (Rosalyn Landor) is rescued.
  • The File of the Golden Goose (1969) [Nick "The Owl" Harrison]: Stabbed in the back when Graham Crowden throws a knife at him as Charles tries to run away.
  • Diamonds Are Forever (1971) [Ernst Stavro Blofeld/Doubles]: In the role of Blofeld and his makeup'd doubles one is pushed into a pool of boiling volcanic mud by Sean Connery. Another is shot in the forehead by Sean using a piton gun. (It is never known to Bond fans what happened to the "real" Blofeld as filmmakers often left it open for him to return. He was last seen briefly in a mini-sub that Sean started using as a "wrecking ball").
  • Theatre of Blood (1973) [Solomon Psaltery]: See: Jack Hawkins for whom he dubs.
  • Tales that Witness Madness (1973) [Dr. Nicholas (voice)]: See: Jack Hawkins.
  • The Beast Must Die (1974) [Arthur Bennington]: Mauled to death (off-screen) in his bedroom by Michael Gambon while he's in his werewolf form; his body is shown afterwards when Calvin Lockhart discovers him.
  • The Legacy (1978) [Karl Liehnecht]: Burned to death when a supernatural force causes the fireplace to flare up into his room.
  • The Jigsaw Man (1984) [Sir James Chorley]: Shot in the chest in a shoot-out with Robert Powell, he dies shortly afterwards in the back of on ambulance on a stretcher while talking to Robert.

TV Deaths[]

  • The Invisible Man: The Vanishing Evidence (1959) [Thal]: Shot in the chest by Sarah Lawson who manages to get her gun out of her coat pocket as Charles is attempting to strangle her. (Thanks to Brian)
  • Danger Man: The Deputy Coyannis Story (1961) [Zameda]: Fighting with Patrick McGoohan, he is unintentionally shot in the chest by Liam Gaffney as he tries to kill Patrick. (Thanks to Brian)
  • Julius Caesar (1979 TV) [Julius Caesar]: Stabbed repeatedly by conspirators in the senate forum (I've only seen the clip, not the film itself).
  • C.A.T.S. Eyes: Fit (1986) [Sir Jack Fenn]: Shoots himself.
