Bob Simmons' death in Thunderball
Bob Simmons (1922 - 1987)
As a professional stunt performer, bob has probably "died" in place of several other actors, though I don't know any specific examples.
Film Deaths
- Guns of Navarone (1961) [German Soldier]: Machine-gunned by James Darren (whom he kills as well.)
- Thunderball (1965) [Col. Jacques Bouvar]: Neck broken with a fire poker by Sean Connery. (note: the role was also played by Rose Alba, when he was seen under a veil at the funeral.)
- Moonraker (1979) [Ambulance Man]: Head smashed through a billboard by Roger Moore.
- For Your Eyes Only (1981) [Henchman Lotus explosion victim]: Killed when the Lotus car self-destructs as he smashes in the window.
