Film Deaths[]

Midnight Cowboy (1969) [Towny]: Possibly killed when Jon Voight shoves a telephone receiver in his mouth after beating him up in the hotel room. (the movie never actually confirms whether the assault was fatal, although it’s pretty strongly implied).
Cold Turkey (1971) [Dr. Proctor]: Accidentally shot by Bob Newhart, who had mistaken the gun for a cigarette lighter. (Played for comic effect) (Thanks to Dave)
Da (1988) [Da]: Dies of old age/natural causes; he continues to appear to his son (Martin Sheen) as a spirit or vision throughout the movie. (I haven’t seen the film myself, but I know the basic premise)

Tales from the Darkside: Trick or Treat (1983) [Gideon Hackles]: Sent to Hell when he enters a portal to Hell while being frightened by various ghosts and monsters including a witch. His death is confirmed when we see his tombstone.
