Anthony Andrews in Hanna's War

Anthony Andrews (1948 - )

Film Deaths [edit | edit source]

  • Operation: Daybreak (The Price of Freedom; Seven Met at Daybreak) (1975) [Sgt. Josef Gabcik]: Shot in the head by Timothy Bottoms as Anthony simultaneously shoots Timothy, when they choose a suicide pact rather than drown in the flooding basement. (Thanks to Gordon)
  • The Holcroft Covenant (1985) [Johann von Tiebolt a.k.a. Jonathan Tennyson]: Shot in the chest with his own revolver by Michael Caine, after Michael holds the chamber with his finger and turns the barrel around, as Anthony's sister (Victoria Tennant) looks on in shock.
  • Hannah’s War (1988) [McCormack]: Shot to death in combat with German soldiers; his body is shown again after the battle when Maruschka Detmers sees him.
  • Haunted (1995) [Robert Mariell]: Burned to death (off-screen) along with Kate Beckinsale and Alex Lowe, in a fire started by Anna Massey five years before the story takes place; towards the end of the movie, Aidan Quinn discovers that Anthony, Kate and Alex have been ghosts all along.

TV Deaths [edit | edit source]

  • Romeo and Juliet (1978) [Mercutio]: Fatally wounded in a sword fight with Alan Rickman, after Patrick Ryecart tries to break up the fight. (I haven’t seen this version, but I’m familiar with the story.)
  • The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1989) [Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde]: Presumably dies in the end. (I haven’t seen this version, but I’m familiar with the story.)
