- Beau Geste (1939) [Legionnaire Schwartz]: Shot to death in a battle with Arab soldiers.
- Dr. Cyclops (1940) [Dr. Alexander Thorkel]: Falls to his death down a mineshaft while chasing his shrunken prisoners through the jungle.
- Wake Island (1942) [Shad McClosky]: Killed by a Grenade or Motor shell (along with Brian Donlevy) while battling the Japanese on Wake Island.
- The Killers (A Man Alone) (1946) [Big Jim Colfax]: Shot in the stomach (off-screen) in a shoot-out with Jack Lambert in Albert's home; he dies on the staircase shortly after the police arrive, while Ava Gardner pleads with him to exonerate her.
